We want to show that FC Bayern does everything to be a model of discipline in the fight against the coronavirus after the call to this respect by Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder,” said the president of the club’s Board of Directors, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. We are glad to be able to make a contribution to the initiative of Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka.
The masks were made from scarves that Bayern planned to distribute at the Allianz Arena stadium in the second leg of the Champions League; against Chelsea on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the club’s founding.
With their campaign, Kimmich and Goretzka have so far collected more than 3.9 million euros for charitable purposes. The two international players are happy about the support of the club. “The masks are indeed very cool optically. And since there is also an environmental idea behind the whole campaign with the sewn-up fan scarves;” said Goretzka..
