Barcelona Forward Ousmane Dembele has suffered a serious hamstring tear on his return to training.
Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele has picked up another injury and he could miss the rest of the season.
The injury is the biggest blow for Barcelona and the player, who were already without the injured Luis Suarez.
Quique Setien said the club was looking for attacking help in the January transfer window, but instead of adding players, they ended up moving Carles Perez to Roma and Abel Ruiz to Braga. Those decisions could be turn up costly, leaving Barcelona with just two healthy and experienced forwards in Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann.
Barcelona is already extremely dependent on the duo and has to make sure they don’t run them into the ground during the second half of the season. Ousmane Dembele has been diagnosed with a complete hamstring tear in his right leg, and start participating in training sessions with the first team.
The Frenchman complained of discomfort in his leg during the Tuesday training session, and while the issue was initially believed to be muscle fatigue, later tests revealed it was much worse. He is out of action since November,27 with a hamstring issue.
He arrived from Borussia Dortmund for an initial fee of €105million in August 2017, when Neymar headed to Paris Saint-Germain for a world-record fee of €220million. But He has failed to make an impact at Camp Nou due to his frequent injuries.
Dembele was nearing a return to action, and Barca coach Quique Setien had big expectations from the Frenchman.
Barcelona has a very weak forward line. With this attack, the final months of the season, success in both LaLiga and the Champions League Looks more difficult. Only Messi can save Barcelona for the rest of the session.
