The Bayern Munich is not a selling club. At least, he is not one of those players that he considers to be part of the backbone of his team and staff. There are not few great teams in Europe such as the German colossus; that have surveyed footballers from the squad of the Bundesliga champion and FC Barcelona.
In recent years, names such as David Alaba, Thomas Muller, Kingsley Coman, or even earlier, Franck Ribery or the retired Philip Lam, a footballer that Pep Guardiola loved, from his days on the Camp Nou bench. But the club that has Karl Heinz Rummenigge his visible head, now as CEO, only transfers when he wants. This was the case in 2018 with Arturo Vidal, who came to Barcelona for 20 million euros.
But there was another Bayern player who at various stages has appeared on the lists that Barcelona managed; although he never took a specific step forward. According to the German media; the player to whom Bayern is willing to open the door is midfielder Javi Martinez.
This information indicates that the midfielder would have few obstacles to change his air if Bayern’s plans to reinforce his wide area are fulfilled. Javi Martinez is 31 years old and has a valid contract with Bayern until 2021. In past seasons, Javi Martinez was an untouchable player; but in the current season, he had only played 18 games due to injuries; such as the one he suffered in late December during Bayern-Wolfsburg, which separated him six weeks from the courts.
Recently, Javi Martinez assured Movistar that “the club has me and they have the last word”, recalling that in Germany “there are no clauses and if the club does not want to sell you it does not sell you”. He even revealed that coach Hans Flick had told him that “he was very happy” with his performance and that he was counting on him.
The latest rumors indicated that Athletic Bilbao had valued the possibilities of a return of Javi Martínez to San Mames; and Getafe also emerged as a possible interested party, as well as other clubs in Europe and the United States..
